Kothduwa is famous for its nature bound Madhu Ganga river, Madhuganga Estuary/ The place is located approximately 25 miles away from Colombo and a beautiful biodiversity area famous for its mangrove forests.
The town of Balapitiya is very close to Kothduwa Island. There are plenty of travellers to Kothduwa to visit the mangrove forests and the nearby Lord Buddha temple at Kothduwa island.
